Wilder Waters Community conserves land by re-integrating humans into the natural community.

People must be able to interact with the life we want to conserve. Being barred from using natural areas forces people into a deeper dependency on modern technology, and subsequently more environmental destruction. We aim to protect our local eco-system in western Maine by practicing and teaching others truly sustainable use.

To fulfill our mission, Wilder Waters Community is:

  • conserving the surrounding forests and water for honorable, truly sustainable use based on ancestral practices,

  • protecting the land from destructive, unsustainable use and providing healthy, productive land for future generations,

  • maintaining land where a small human community can caretake the land and remain an example of our conservation method and way of life,

  • sharing our conservation method with through educational events, social media, and various other outlets.
