Wilder Waters Community conserves land by re-integrating humans into the natural community.
People must be able to interact with the life we want to conserve. Being barred from using natural areas forces people into a deeper dependency on modern technology, and subsequently more environmental destruction. We aim to protect our local eco-system in western Maine by practicing and teaching others truly sustainable use.
To fulfill our mission, Wilder Waters Community is:
conserving the surrounding forests and water for honorable, truly sustainable use based on ancestral practices,
protecting the land from destructive, unsustainable use and providing healthy, productive land for future generations,
maintaining land where a small human community can caretake the land and remain an example of our conservation method and way of life,
sharing our conservation method with through educational events, social media, and various other outlets.
